Songsterr proof of concept launch

Songsterr is a service offering an extraordinary experience of playing, learning, and singing guitar on-line. Songsterr provides a realistic guitar sound and gives you a full control over the playback - it's up to you to decide when it's time to move to the next chord and to sing a new verse. All you have to do is press the button during playback when you feel it's time to. Alternatively, you can use Songsterr's autopilot mode and play the song without any interaction.

What you see now is merely a proof of concept - we haven't yet decided which route to take in the following versions. Songsterr can be one (or combination) of the following:
  • Service for beginner guitarists with instructions on finger positioning, strumming techniques, etc.
  • Service for songwriters with features to create and edit songs by writing lyrics, arranging chords, choosing patterns and rhythm. Our guess is that there can be many users who would want to add their own songs or songs of their favorite artists contributing to Songsterr's song library and forming a community around it (think online version of Guitar Pro).
  • Entertaining service like Guitar Hero allowing you to play and sing your favorite songs on-line.
It's up to you to define the future of Songsterr - leave comments or email us your ideas. Any feedback is welcome!

PS. Please note, that current version is a bit rough around the edges and has some sound glitches in some versions of Flash and Windows. We are doing our best to fix these problems as soon as possible.

I would be hepful to have the graphical representation (finger position) of the chords. It could be done in 3 wasy:

1. The name of the chord could be a link to it's graphical representation

2. Hovering on the chord could show its graphical representation

3. A toggle button could show/hide the graphical representations next to the chord names

Great project. Keep it up!

This is a great idea, I've been having a bit of a hard time getting the sound and timing of Hey There Delilah but this has helped me out immensely, I hope that more songs and more features keep coming.

Just wanted to put in my vote that you go the route of online guitar lessons.

This is unbelievably awesome! Kudos to the creators. I usually use ultimate-guitar.com but it was difficult to get the picking down for some songs. This is very much appreciated!
