We're retiring Songsterr blog. Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter

We're always looking for better ways to communicate with our customers. Our blog hasn't been the best format to do that lately. In fact it hasn't received any love from us for a few months already. Please follow us on Twitter and Facebook to get the latest information on new features, product news, and more. Thanks for your continued support.

Printing enhancements: landscape mode and scale

We've just launched a new version of Songsterr Player with improved support of printing:
  • You can now switch between landscape and portrait modes.
  • Printouts can be scaled using percentages.
  • Print margins were reduced.
All the enhancements are aimed to fit more bars to each line. Hopefully this would significantly reduce the number of pages per printout, save some ink and trees.

"Old" new feature: Focus Mode

Ok, this feature was available for Songsterr Plus users for quite some time already, but it looks like we forgot to cover it in our blog. Fixing this right now.

Focus Mode is a Mixer button allowing one to focus on the current track by rising it's volume and lowering the volume of all the other tracks. Basically, it is a soft alternative to "Solo". It can be quite useful when you learn your part and would still like to hear all the other instruments playing "in background".

Actually, this was a very popular request from bass players. Bass part is often hard to hear when all the other tracks are playing. Adjusting the volumes was a boring routine bass players had to follow for each song.

Hopefully, this small feature will make your learning experience a bit easier.

New Feature: Filters

Hello! We've just added an exciting new feature: Filters!

Now whenever you're looking for a song, you will see a special filters panel. By using filters you can narrow the list of songs you see. For example, it's possible to find all slow Metallica's tracks with vocals. Or to find all fast-paced drum tabs of Black Sabbath.

And this is just a start! We plan to extend the list of filters. It won't be long before you will be able to search for all guitar Beatles' songs which doesn't use chords with barre. Or to search for advanced-level guitar songs with heavy usage of bends and slides!

Stay tuned!
